Dry-docking expenditure is always considered as the key big ticket item for any owner, investor or financier for owning or running a vessel. These significant costs can adversely affect the vessel’s commercial viability if not properly controlled and with an ever-changing regulatory landscape in shipping, the CAPEX demands of routine dry dockings can escalate considerably.
Grandfame provides a comprehensive dry dock management service which has been proven to save our clients time and money.
Our objective is to protect our clients' interests and to ensure the dry-docking is well-planned, controlled and executed in line with industry best practice and with minimal cost-escalation. Critically, ensuring that spending authority is respected and financial exposure is mitigated where possible. Whilst ensuring that asset-integrity, longevity and fulfilment of future charter commitment is not compromised.
Since 1990, our technical superintendent has supervised over 100 vessels both in new built and ship repairing, size ranging from Handysize bulker, Panamax bulker up to VLCC, such as MV Alaconbus and MT Bloom Lake with GRT 15,622 and 156,215 respectively
Our dedication and proficiency have been endorsed by Flags, Class surveyors and many shipyards. Our service’s coverage extends to the shipyards in mainland China, Japan and Dubai over the years. What is more, our technical superintendent can well communicate with the principals, crew and shipyard in their language both literally and technically.
For new building projects, our primary role is to find and secure the best terms for new buildings. We negotiate on our client’s behalf throughout the newbuilding period and we actively engage to solve problems to make sure that the vessel’s delivery will be completed on time and on budget.
